Last spring I began taking portrait drawing classes which is always my first love but then I thought I needed to expand into drawing the whole figure and to really capture the essence of the whole body. I signed up for a class with Domestika - which if you don't know about it Domestika offers classes in drawing, illustration, graphic design, painting, sketching, mixed media and so many more! Which then led me to take a class from Daniel Torrent - an artist in Spain. His body of work is all drawing people in unexpected colors using gouache and color pencil. It was an incredible class and I was able to start using my colored pencils again after years of allowing them to sit - unused. So here is a selection of pieces and they are based on photographs I found on Pinterest. I love the intimate nature of each piece - whether it's people sleeping, or reading or hugging or hanging out together yet separate. Each of these was rendered in color pencil, ink and guoache on Bristol paper. I add them to my Instagram account as well - please check because there are more than I show here. They are small works - each measuring around 9x7 (ish). I have submitted a few to galleries for upcoming gallery shows during the holiday season but - if you are interested in purchasing a piece please reach out to me by leaving a comment or emailing me through this site. Thank you so much for visiting my site and for reading my post.
